Transportation
The region is well endowed in terms of a transportation infrastructure, with interstate highways traversing the region both east to west and north to south. These, plus the region’s proximity to important economic markets such as New York City and Boston, give the Hartford-Springfield interstate region easy access to very large markets.

Air passenger services, air cargo, and corporate and charted flights have access to a number of airports in the region.
Bradley International Airport which lies between Springfield and Hartford is the principal source of commercial passenger service.
